Baptism

REQUIREMENTS: Parents need to be an active and registered parishioners for at least 3 months before Baptizing. If you, the parent are not registered but attend another parish, you will need to go ahead and ask for a permission letter from them and present it with the Baptism application.

Applications can be picked up at the parish office.

The next steps would be to complete the Baptism application, turn in a copy of the child's birth certificate, and submit a copy of the sponsor documents.

 

Sponsors/Godparents:

• If the sponsors are married we need their marriage certificate from the Catholic Church.

• If the sponsors are fully single and not cohabitating we need their Confirmation certificate.

• Parents cannot be sponsors. The sponsor must be at least 16 years of age.

• If having more than one sponsor, sponsors must be one male and one female.

 

Both parents and sponsors are required to take one class before the Baptism date. The class is held in person. This process is for children under the age of 7. If the child is over the age of 7 please contact the Religious Education office (information below.) We do not hold any private Baptisms.
